We were looking for a nice and quite place close to Sydney for the long weekend. I am so happy that we went to the "Hideaway by the Lake" which is a great place for couples. Its close to Sydney (only 1.5 hrs drive), literally next to the lake (East Lake Macquarie), and a tranquil place for weekend retreat. The house is self contained (including SPA, BBQ, Canoes etc) and the verandah is only 4 metres from the lake water. You can see water from almost every corner of the house. We loved our two nights stay at the "Hide away by the Lake" and will definitely go back there in future.

This is a beautiful place and you feel as if you are on the water because you see water from everyroom. The facilities were great, especially the Spa. Overall a very relaxing place.
